The Vino Museum was inaugurated in 2014 by The Food Museums of the Province of Parma Association that manages the entire network of the eight Food Museums. Also part of the network are the Parmigiano Reggiano Museum, the Prosciutto di Parma Museum, the Salame di Felino Museum, the Pomodoro Museum, the Pasta Museum, the Culatello di Zibello Museum and the Fungo Porcino di Borgotaro Museum. A project for the ninth Museum dedicated to the Tartufo Nero di Fragno is under development. The Association works in the field of food and nutrition education, protection and enhancement of agri-food traditions and promotion of the cultural, artistic and economic heritage of Parma’s agri-food industry.

The Vino Museum is located in the charming cellars of the Rocca Sanvitale of Sala Baganza (PR), in the middle of an area dedicated for centuries to wine production. The Museum presents an exhibition and sensory path in six rooms entirely dedicated to the Wine of Parma, its history and its culture. The first room, set up in collaboration with National Archelogical Museum, is dedicated to the archeology of wine in the Parma Area, with objects and images from the excavations of the territory. The second room explores the aspects related to the characteristics of vine plant and viticulture. The third room tells, through tools and ancient objects, the harvest and the preparation of wine. The descent into the fascinating Renaissance icehouse tells with 360° images the role of the vine and wine in rituals. In the barrel room you can discover the history of wine containers, corkscrew and the trades of the glassmaker and the cooper. The sixth room presents the fruits of Parma viticulture: the pioneers of the sector, the history of the labels, the cultivated varieties, the wines produced, the wineries to visit in the area. The itinerary ends with the tasting in the wine cellar in the basement of the Rocca.

This website, the registration services and the Tokens issuing are managed by Marketing Network Milano Srl, a professional services company of I&B - Innova et Bella group, on the direct behalf of The Food Museums of the Province of Parma Association.
